Il progetto LUIGI finanziato dal programma EU Alpine Space

E' appena giunta la notizia: LUIGI è tra i 15 progetti finanziati dal programma EU Interreg Spazio Alpino nell'ambito della Strategia EUSALP per la macro-regione alpina.

Città metropolitana ha assunto il ruolo di Capofila di 13 partner di 6 paesi europei che coprono tutto l’arco alpino (dalla Francia alla Slovenia, passando per Svizzera, Austria e Germania) per un valore complessivo del progetto di 2,5 milioni di euro.

LUIGI è acronimo di Linking Urban and Inner alpine green Infrastructures. La sua decorrenza è da ottobre 2019 a giugno 2022 e l’obiettivo principale è quello di sviluppare diverse iniziative che coinvolgano le aree metropolitane connesse con le aree rurali dell’arco Alpino. Il progetto  LUIGI permetterà di accrescere il potenziale per lo sviluppo di una economia sostenibile, basata su servizi eco sistemici tali da assicurare una migliore qualità della vita e un ambiente urbano più vivibile.

 

APPROFONDIMENTO

In particolare LUIGI offrirà concrete soluzioni per la riduzione dell’impatto ambientale delle nostre colture e valorizzerà i prodotti autoctoni, motori delle biodiversità, attraverso modelli di business e concreti esempi di applicazione da rivolgere a decisori politici e alle imprese del territorio. A prescindere dalle specifiche finalità operative del progetto, questa occasione per Città metropolitana di Milano rappresenta, non solo la prima esperienza da capofila di un progetto europeo, tralaltro con un partenariato altamente rappresentativo della Macro-regione Alpina, bensì un’opportunità di studio del contenimento dell’impatto ambientale che scaturirà dall’evento olimpico Milano-Cortina 2026.

Il progetto rientra nella misura Interreg - Alpine Space, uno dei più prestigiosi Bandi di finanziamento tra le misure interregionali, e aderisce alle finalità dell’Action group 7 di EUSALP; un accordo che punta a promuovere una gestione sostenibile dell’energia e delle risorse naturali e culturali e la protezione ambientale del territorio, ad aumentare lo sviluppo del territorio favorendo una mobilità sostenibile, una rafforzata cooperazione tra i paesi e le regioni che ne fanno parte, nonché lo sviluppo di servizi, trasporti e infrastrutture per la sua comunicazione. Nel 2019 la presidenza di EUSALP è in carico alla Regione Lombardia.

LUIGI Project financed by the EU Alpine Space Programme

Declared of strategic value, the project led by "Metropolitan City of Milan" aims at promoting and developing green infrastructures and their ecosystem services 

 

Just got the news! LUIGI is among the 15 projects financed by the European funding measure Interreg Alpine Space.

CMM has accepted the role of leader of 13 partners from 6 European countries covering the whole of the Alps (from France to Slovenia, via Switzerland, Austria and Germany) with a total project value of 2.5 million euro.

LUIGI stands for Linking Urban and Inner alpine green Infrastructures. Its starting point is from October 2019 to June 2022 and the main objective is to develop initiatives that involved metropolitan areas linked with rural ones in the Alpine regions. LUIGI project will increase the potential for the development of a sustainable economy, based on ecosystem services that ensure a better quality of life and a more liveable urban environment.


 
DEEPENING

In particular LUIGI will offer concrete solutions for the reduction of the environmental impact of our crops and will enhance local products, engines of biodiversity, through business models and concrete examples of application to be addressed to policy-makers and local businesses. Apart from the specific operational objectives of the project, this opportunity for Metropolitan City of Milan represents not only the first experience as a leader of a European project, but either an opportunity to study the limitation of the environmental impact that will arise from Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics.

The project is part of the Interreg - Alpine Space programme and joins the pourposes of the EUSALP Action Group 7 (the Alpine macroregion); an agreement that aims to promote sustainable management of energy and natural and cultural resources and environmental protection of the territory, to increase the development of the territory by promoting sustainable mobility, enhanced academic cooperation between the countries and regions in it, as well as the development of services, transport and infrastructure for its communication.  In 2019 the Presidency of EUSALP is in charge of Lombardy Region.
